EU climate leadership melting away
The EU climate and energy package has entered its final stages, but as discussions currently stand, Europe is failing the test of climate leadership at the international negotiations in Poznan, Poland.
WWF, Climate Action Network Europe, Friends of the Earth Europe and Greenpeace have organised an action in Brussels, on the occasion of the EU Environment Council. With snowy winters and ski resorts under threat from climate change, world-famous skiers and snowboarders are calling on governments attending the UN climate talks in Poznan to rapidly reduce global emissions. At a WWF action in Poznan, athletes performed a series of tricks expressing their support for urgent action against rising temperatures.
